First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. November 27, 2010 was the first ever Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is the day Dutchess County celebrates the Shop Small movement to drive shoppers to local merchants across the U.S.
More than 200 organizations have already joined American Express OPEN, the company’s small business unit, in declaring the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday.
Dutchess SCORE is a local chapter of SCORE
"Counselors of America Small Business Owners," the U.S. association designated as a "resource partner" by the U.S. Small Business Administration and dedicated to helping small business owners form and grow their businesses. SCORE is comprised of 12,400 volunteer business counselors throughout the U.S. and its territories. There are about 364 SCORE chapters in urban, suburban and rural communities. SCORE was formed in 1964 and nearly 8.5 million business owners have utilized SCORE services.
