Beacon Barks Dog Parade

Mt Beacon PhotosBeacon NY Dog Parade - On Saturday, April 26, 2014, Beacon Barks will take place on Main Street in Beacon, NY starting at 10am. The event is Hudson Valley’s one and only dog parade celebrating the region’s animal shelters, rescue and welfare organizations. This fun event happens from the help of the Dutchess County SPCA and the team at the Beacon Barkery. Proceeds from the event benefit dog and animal not-for-profit organizations. The event is free and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring your dog, if you have one!

The first parade was held in 2007, and featured an agility demo, dog wash, and an afternoon concert. Since then, the event has continued to grow and funds raised have supported the homeless animals in Beacon and throughout the county. It helped support the opening of Beacon’s dog park along with the area’s shelter and rescue groups.

To help out this organization, purchase your Beacon Bucks, a coupon book for participating businesses. It includes coupons and special discounts at area businesses that can be used in the coming weeks and months. Animal shelters and rescue groups will benefit from your support. The books cost just $10 and offer plenty of savings.
